Actress. She began her career as a performer on Broadway in the 1920s, before moving to Los Angles to work in films in the 1940s. She played supporting roles in films to include "Reunion in France" (1942), "Dishonored Lady" (1947), "The Snake Pit" (1948), "The Case of the Shy Ballerina" (1954), "Forever Darling" (1956) and "The Day of the Locust" (1975). For television she is best known for her role as the millionaire's wife 'Lovey Howell' on the series, "Gilligan's Island" 1964 to 1967. She also appeared on "I Love Lucy", "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", "Search for Tomorrow" and continued acting until her late 80s. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
