Nat Langham
Birth: May 20, 1820
Death: Sep. 1, 1871

Prizefighter. He was best known as an English middleweight bare knuckle prizefighter and is attributed with being the only opponent to have beaten the legendary fighter Thomas Sayers. Born in Hinckley, Northhamptonshire, Great Britain, into abject poverty which blighted his health throughout his life. During his career, boxing was an illegal secretive profession with low prize money, however his prowess in the ring earned him a considerable fortune. His last fight was a defeat to Sayers in 1857, after which he retired. He died of consumption at age 52. (bio by: s.canning)
