Charles W. Burd
Charles William "Bill" Burd, 80, of Cabot died Sunday, May 8, 2005, at his residence. Born March 8, 1925, in Cabot, he was the son of William and Pearl E. (Miller) Burd.
He worked as an electrician for Pullman. He was a member and elder of Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Sarver, a member of the William H. Miller Masonic Lodge No. 769 in Butler, a former member of the Saxonburg and Sarver VFWs, and a 41-year member of Pine Grove Rovers Camping Club. Bill also enjoyed country music, playing his guitar and singing.
Surviving are his wife, Violet (Walchesky) Burd, whom he married on July 25, 1950; his 3 sons, John Burd and Raymond Burd, both of Cabot, and Randell Burd of Harwick; his brother, James M. Burd of Saxonburg; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a twin sister; and a brother.
Friends will be received at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Hupp officiating.
Interment will follow in Buffalo Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
