TOMPKINSVILLE – Brenda Lynn Gettings, 49, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at her home. She was born on March 3, 1958, in Monroe County and was a daughter of the late Eugene Lynn and Eloise Mosier Lynn Vance of Tompkinsville, who survives. Mrs. Gettings was a store manager and a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.
Other survivors include her husband, Nelson Gettings, whom she married on June 22, 1974; two sons: Daniel Gettings and Kyle Gettings, of Tompkinsville; her stepfather, L.D. "Buster" Vance of Tompkinsville; her mother-in-law, Flora Nell Gettings of Tompkinsville; five sisters: Marcella Froggett of Glasgow, Cynthia and Gary Goodman, Lecia and Rodney Pruitt, Tina and Quentin Warf and Angie and Richard Branham, all of Edmonton.
She was also preceded in death by a niece, Whitney Barcel Emberton; her father-in-law, Arzie Gettings; and a sister, Patricia Emberton.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with Brother Loy Milam officiating. Burial will be in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
