Fred H. Mikels, Jr., 80 of South Knoxville, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017.
He retires after 26 years of service with the Knoxville Fire Department and he was of Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred H. and Nell Mikels; brothers, Larry and Clyde Mikels; sister, Minnie Flynn; and grand daughter, Heather Nicole Mikels.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hilda Mikels; sons, Freddie Mikels and wife Melissa, Tom Mikels and wife Laura; daughters, Linda Davis and husband Lynn, Frances Hartley and husband Everett; sisters, Georgia Valentine, Hazel Mikels, Faye Mabry, Nellie Latham, Sue Sanders and husband Don, Pam Maxwell and husband Paul; brothers, Bud Mikels, Jerry Mikels, Roy Mikels and wife Sue, Darrell Mikels and wife Paula; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet 11 AM Monday in Highland South Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Rev. Freddie Gibson officiating.
