Edward Foy Futch, 68, of Midway died Tuesday, March 13 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.

He was born in Dade County, FL, and was a retired tractor-trailer salesman.

He was a member of Frank F. Baker Lodge 46, F&AM, and he was a member of the gospel singing group that ministered to the Bryan County Health Center, Savannah Specialty Care Center and the Midway Nursing Home, by serving as the lead guitar player, on a weekly basis.

He was an avid golfer, fisherman and bow hunter.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a good friend to a lot of people, and a member of the South Newport Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Weeks Futch of Midway; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Jeffrey Woods of Midway and Heidi and Dr. Donnie C. Brannen of Savannah; a sister, Earline Shearouse of Savannah; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Brannen, Christopher Brannen, Dakota Woods and Gatlin Woods and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home on Highway 80 West in Savannah. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the Fairhaven Funeral Home with Dr. Donnie C. Brannen, Dr. Gene Hughes and the Rev. Judson L. Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest West Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shorty Burdette, Roy Redmond, Richard Weeks, Randy Butler, Kline Berry and Ronald W. Edwards. Honorary escorts will be members of the Nursing Home Ministry Team.

Remembrances have been suggested to "Property Fund" in care of South Newport Baptist Church, Rt. 2, Box 2087, Townsend, GA 31331.
