He was married in 1849, to Sarah Jane Knapp, who was born in 1829.
Mr. Haven enlisted Aug. 21, 1862 in the Twenty-seventh Iowa Infantry, and served until Aug. 8, 1865, when he was mustered out at Clinton, Ia. He participated in many of the hard fought battles of the war, and though often where shot and shell fell thickest, escaped unhurt.
He is a member of the regular Baptist church, and in politics is a Republican, and a Prohibitionist. No Death Date
