s/o Simon Peter & Medora Rosamond Baker Gillpatrick. Never married. Uncle Bill had an wood-chopping accident that broke an elbow and resulted in him having a straight and unbendable arm. He was a loner, living off by himself in the country, and only coming to town every once in a while.
William (Bud) Gillpatrick, 75, died at 6 AM Saturday at the Potter Nursing Home where he had been a patient since suffering a heart attack in April. William Gillpatrick, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gillpatrick, was born in Cedar County near West Branch on October 15, 1881. At the age of six years, he came with his parents to Audubon and Cass counties and had resided here since then except for a short time spent in South Dakota. Mr. Gillpatrick was engaged in farming until his health failed. Surviving are a brother, George of Belalto, Alberta, Canada; one sister, Alice Gillpatrick of Anita and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Petersen and Mrs. Anna Leslie and a sister and brother who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Long's funeral home with the Rev. F. G. Barnes officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. -Atlantic News Telegraph, June 10, 1957.
