Virginia Ruth Futrell, 72, of Seymour passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

She was born in Sevier County on November 29, 1944.

Virginia was a member of Old Time Gospel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy G. and Nellie H. McCarter; sister, Evelyn Smelcer; and brother, Tom McCarter.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Danny Futrell; son, Gary L. French and wife, Windy; daughter, Kim DeBusk and husband, Abie; grandchildren, Alex Russell and husband, Cody, Faith French, Abie Lynn DeBusk; great-grandson, Ryker Russell; brothers, Gene McCarter, Carroll McCarter and wife, Mary, and Don McCarter; sister-in-law, Ruth McCarter; and a host of extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday, October 13th with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel. Rev. Don Cooper and Rev. Greg Wolfe will be officiating.

Family and friends will meet 10 AM Saturday at Providence Cemetery in Sevierville for the graveside service and interment.
