Ronald Eugene Little was born September 21, 1943, to Lavern and Pearl (Atwell) Little in Blencoe, Iowa. Ron grew up in Blencoe and attended school there. Ron then held various jobs including being a welder at NASA in Florida.

Ron married Cheryl Melby on November 14, 1965, at the Soldier Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two children.

Ron sold cars for a number of car dealerships, including Baxter's and Bob Anderson Ford in Missouri Valley. He then owned a gas station in Soldier and also sold cars from there. Ron and Cheryl lived in various locations before settling in Soldier 40 years ago.

Sadly, Cheryl died May 12, 2015.

Ron loved to buy and sell things. In fact, everything Ron had was for sale. He liked to hunt pheasants and ducks, and he really enjoyed camping and fishing especially in Pierre and Chamberlain, South Dakota.

Ron died on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 74 years and 23 days.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cheryl; four siblings, Verna Sturtevant, Ricky Little, Danny Little and Jerry Little; and dear friend Dick Blake.

Ron is survived by his two children, Shelly and David Foss and David and Kristi Little all of Soldier, Iowa; two grandchildren, Baylee and Joshua Little; four siblings, Pat Reynolds of Milan, Tennessee, Dennis Little of Trenton, Tennessee, Gary Little of Georgia and Vicki and Doug Bonine of Onawa, Iowa; dear friend Ralph Balsano; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Monday, October 16, at Soldier Lutheran Church, 223 Lark Street, Soldier, Iowa. The funeral service will be 10:30 am Tuesday, October 17, also at the church, with burial afterwards at Soldier Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon back at the church, immediately after the graveside service.
