Obituary in the Burlington [VT] Free Press, "ALICE S. RUSSELL STARKSBORO - Alice S. Russell, 74, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, in Porter Medical Center in Middlebury. She was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Starksboro, the daughter of Carroll and Sadie (Atkins) Hill. Alice was a member of the Starksboro First Baptist Church, where she was organist for many years. She married Harry Russell on April 26, 1954. They owned and operated the family farm in Starksboro for many years. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harry Russell of Starksboro; a daughter, Jeanne Russell of Burlington; a son and his wife, Miled and Lori Russell of Starksboro; two step-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Hill of Starksboro; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 25, at 11 a.m. in the Starksboro First Baptist Church. Internment will be in Green Mount Cemetery in Starksboro. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Bristol Rescue Squad, Bristol, Vt. 05443. Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol is in charge of arrangements."
