A Good Man Gone.
According to the dispensation of an all-wise providence it be comes our sad duty to chronicle the death of one of the oldest and most respected citizens of this neighborhood, in the person of Mr. Russell Raulerson, which occured at his home on last Saturday, March 11th, 1899. He was born October 18th, 1815, being in his 84th year when he died.

He was buried late in the evening on the same day that he died early in the morning. This was done at his request repeatedly made by him previous to his death. His desire was to be put away as soon as possible after he was dead.

For about two years prior to his death he had his coffin and all necessary burial apparel prepared so that there would be no delay in putting his remains in their last resting place.

Mr. Raulerson had been married three times. To his first, marriage there were twelve children born; to the second marriage one, and to the third marriage none, making in all thirteen children, seven of whom preceded him to the upper and better land, leaving six children (grown) 58 grand-children, 38 great-grand children to survive him.

The deceased was a devoted member of the Primitive Baptist church for many years and was ever faithful to his honest convictions until afflictions disabled him and impaired his mind some years ago. Since which time he has been quite a sufferer until death relieved him. He was buried in uncle David Raulerson's family burying ground, surrounded by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. The service was conducted by Elder J. C. Williams.
