Mabel Louise Lynn, 81, of Clay City, died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at her residence.


Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Clay City First Baptist Church in Clay City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Pastor Brad Harris and Pastor Don Lusk Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery.


Mrs. Lynn was born on March 25, 1921, in Clay County, the daughter of Russell H. and Eunice (Bates) Pierce. She married Guilford Lynn on September 1, 1938, in Henderson, Ky. He survives.


She was a homemaker and a member of Clay City First Baptist Church in Clay City.


Mrs. Lynn is survived by her husband, Guilford Lynn, of Clay City; two sons, Ray Lynn and his wife, Charlotte of Noble and Leroy Lynn and his wife, Shirley of Dayton, Ohio; three daughters, Ginger Hunley and her husband, Richard, of Wood lawn, Tenn., Ruth Ann Lusk and her husband, Pastor Don Lusk Jr., of Ashmore, and Charlene Henderson and her husband, Phillip, of Clay City; a sister, Wilma Hosselton and her husband, Cletis, of Clay City; a brother, Clifford Pierce and his wife, Mae, of Clay City; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond Pierce, two sons, Hugh and Calvin Lynn, and a great-grandchild, Jordan Lynn.
