[Jonathan Rose settled in Branford and was confirmed as ensign of the trainband there in May 1716 lieutenant of the first company in May 1722 and Captain of the company in the North Society in May 1726. He signed the petition of the northern farmers of the town for a separate ecclesiastical society 7 May 1717, receipted 12 Feb 1718/9, for his part of his part of his mother's third in the estate of his father was also deputy to the general court in 1723, 1727, 1732 and 1733. Jonathan Rose was involved in many land transactions, including many in Branford, CT.
