I have in my records that William died between 1868 and 1870 since the last child I have listed for them, Matilda is brn 1868 and he is not with them in 1870.
He was in the Florida 2nd Cavalry Co. F and on FURLOUGH OCT 24, 1864 TO LAKE CITY. No military record beyond that. It is believed that he died between 1864/66 and is probably buried in Taylor County.

My mother is a granddaughter of William Bartley Osteen, Jr. and Martha Weeks. She told me recently that they were both buried in the Shiloh Cemetery but they are not in the cemetery list. They are probably in the unmarked graves.
