Betty is the daughter of Malcolm and Eva G. (Baldwin) Thornton.
She was the oldest of three children and was raised in Nebraska and graduated from Omaha North High School in 1941.
From 1941-1949 she was employed at Woolworth Dime Store, Glen Martin Bomber Plant as a gas rationing clerk and the Railway Express as a comptometer operator.
Betty married Verle Vogler on August 21-1948 and they celebrated their 50th & 65th Wedding Anniversaries. She spent her married life with Verle and their children on farms near Springfield and Tekamah Nebraska.
Betty was influenced by many youth by assisting in 4-H leadership, scouts, and church activities.
She loved flowers, crafting, sewing, music, bowling, cooking and club activities and especially family holidays.
