Funeral service for J.B. Hooper, 100, of Crane Hill, will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 15th, 2012, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden.

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hooper passed away Saturday, May 12th, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1912, to James Madison and Melissa Boatwright Hooper.

Mr. Hooper was a World War II Veteran, a member of VFW Post #2214, and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was an accomplished carpenter, an avid gardener, and a master tomato grower. He travelled extensively and drove through every state in the continental United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joe Ed Hooper; and a sister, Mary Jo Self.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Frances Hooper; a daughter-in-law, Linda Hooper of Huntsville; a granddaughter, Karen (Matthew) Sweet of Huntsville; and many family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or do something nice today for someone you love.

Visitation will be from 11-12 , Tuesday, May 15th, at the funeral home.
