Ralph Yarborough
Birth: Jun. 8, 1903
Death: Jan. 27, 1996

Liberal Democratic US Senator (1957-70) from Texas. Defeated three times for Governor (1952, 54 and 56). He shared the limousine with Vice President Lyndon Johnson in Dallas when Kennedy was assassinated. In 1964 he was the only Southern Senator to vote for the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He practiced law until he was 90.
