SERVICES HELD FOR STANLEY OHRT ON WEDNESDAY
Funeral services were held at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon for Stanley Ohrt, 63, who died suddenly Monday afternoon, February 6th. He passed away at his place of employment, Blair Manufacturing Company, where he had worked for the past sixteen years as mechanics foreman. Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, with burial in Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
Stanley Ohrt was born February 10, 1920 to George and Rica Ohrt. On February 22, 1942 he married Dorothy Slader in Kenmore, New York. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years and returned to the Long Creek area upon his discharge in 1946. He served as scoutmaster for Troop 114 for many years, and was a past patron of the Order of Eastern Star, and past master and active member of Solomon Lodge. Stanley was a member of Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Paula Lytle of Omaha; Merry and Randy Truhlsen of Blair; Marta and Greg Anderson of Blair, and Georgia and Bob Byrn of Kearney. Also surviving are one granddaughter, Katie Marie Truhlsen; and two grandsons, Alan and Ryan Byrn; a sister, Mildred Clausen of Arlington; a brother, Alvin of Fort Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.
