GEORGE OHRT DEAD AT 63
RITES FRIDAY FOR RETIRED FORT CAHLUN FARMER WHO DIED SUDDENLY
George Ohrt, 63, for 40 years a prominent Fort Calhoun farmer, who recently retired and moved to Blair, died Tuesday night at Clarkson hospital in Omaha, where he had been taken after suffering a sudden heart attack here last Thursday. His death was entirely unexpected.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian church, the Sievers mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Long a leading farmer and prominent in Washington county agricultural and civic affairs, Mr. Ohrt was born near Fort Calhoun Sept. 10, 1883, and had spent his entire life there until moving to Blair recently with his wife to the Mrs. Cora Hinz home at 127 East Lincoln Street. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Timm Ohrt.
He and Ida F. Hinz were married Dec. 15, 1909.
Mr. Ohrt was a member of the Washington county fair board and had served as president of the association. He was prominent in AAA and Papio Soil Conservation District offices and also was Calhoun township president.
Surviving are his wife, ida, one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Clausen of Arlington; two sons, Alvin and Stanley Ohrt of Fort Calhoun; one brother, Chas (?) Ohrt of Fort Calhoun; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Kruse of Fort Calhoun and Mrs. Anna Timm of Bennington.
