14 Aug., 1930 - The Enterprise

Mr. Heinrich Hansen, aged father of Mrs. Hans Schmidt, answered the last call August 3, 1930 at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 15 days. He was born in Schwabsted, Germany on Oct. 19, 1844, and came to Nebraska in 1879. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church here Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Feyerheer, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran church north of Florence officiating. Mr. Hansen is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Hans Schmidt, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; two sisters who reside in Grand Island, and one sister and one brother in Germany. He had resided with his daughter and husband since the death of his wife almost twenty five years ago. He was laid to rest in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery. The many beautiful flowers testified to the esteem in which he was held. The husbands of six of his granddaughters were the pallbearers.
