Resided in Knoxville, TN

Early on the morning of July 21st, Betty Jean Martin Webb, 91, of Knoxville, slipped her tiny feet into her highest stiletto heels, grabbed her purse, and flew out of Oakwood Senior Living in Knoxville en route to Heaven.

There she was greeted by Jesus, her parents, Glenn and Josey Martin; brother, Joe Martin; husband, Lewis Webb; and son-in-law, Doug "Mick" Atchley.

Betty graduated from Knoxville High School in 1945.

She worked at Great Atlantic Shoe Company for a number of years and during her time there she married the love of her life, Lewis Webb.

In early 1970's, she became the Receptionist at White Lily Foods, where she was known as, "the voice of White Lily."

Betty was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and served as the church librarian. She laughed, joked, and sometimes fussed with residents and care associates. Betty could keep you in stitches and order you out of her room in the same breath.

She spoke her mind even when you didn't care to hear it. However, at the end of the day, she loved fiercely.

Betty will be dearly missed by her son, Alan Webb and wife, Reneau; daughter, Gina Webb Atchley; grandchildren, Amy Webb and David Webb; brother, Jack Martin; and numerous cousins.

The family expresses deep appreciation to Oakwood Senior Living for the care provided to "Miss Betty", as she was affectionately known.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Immanuel Baptist Church, 306 Ogle Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920.

The funeral service will be held at 12 PM Monday, July 24th in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home.

The graveside service will follow at Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM -12 PM Monday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Thanks to Virgil & DeAnna Hancock-Cooley (#36950484) for parent's links
