Stella Ruth (Wright) Maples (Granny), age 90, of Knoxville, TN, gained her angel wings at home on July 20, 2017.

She was born to John and Ellen Wright on June 28, 1927. Stella was the eldest member of Beech Grove Primitive Baptist Church of Sevierville. She was self-employed as a custom draper seamstress. Stella's cooking and canning were legendary and no one left Granny and Papa's home without eating. She worked hard all of her life and was always there for her family and friends when they needed her. She loved the Tennessee football and Lady Vols Basketball. But more than any of those things, Stella served her Lord, by example of what a faithful and true servant should be. She is now resting in His arms.

Stella is survived by her husband of 70 years and the love of her life,Thomas R. Maples; her amazing children, Carolyn Sue and son-in-law Tom, Charlie Reece and daughter-in-law Polly (Stalcup) Maples and son Billy Clarence and daughter-in-law Sharon (Skeen) Maples and Daughter-in-law Wanda (Lusk) Julian; Her four precious grandchildren who she adored, Thomas Perkins, Jr. (Angie), Rebecca Woods (Doug), Stacie McCarter (Brian) and Paula Darraj (Alex). The jewels in her crown are her four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Her precious sister, Emma McClure, brothers-in-law, John R. Maples (South Carolina) and Virgil Finchum and sisters-in-law, Bernice and Ina Wright; A host of nieces and nephews and other family members.
