| Birth: | Jan. 19, 1866 | | Death: | Sep. 11, 1953 |  Medal of Honor Recipient. Walker enlisted in the Army in 1884 and was discharged in 1889. He immediately reenlisted and served in Co. C Third U.S. Cavalry. On December 30, 1891 while alone on patrol he fired on three armed mexicans killing one of their horses. While the men escaped they left papers including a proclamation of revolution. For this he was awarded the medal of honor. He later was promoted to 1st lieutenant in the Phillipine Scouts during the Phillipine Insurrection. Here was was awarded the silver star and was again promoted this time to captain. After retiring from the military in 1911 he continued service to his country by becoming a deputy U.S. marshal in 1914 and eventually becoming marshal of the southern district of Texas. In 1926 he married Enriquita Pena and together they had seven children. (bio by: Reddfamilyhistory)
