Hoover Cochran
(May 25, 1927 - July 13, 2017)

Hoover Cochran passed peacefully from this life to the next on July 13, 2017, in Pasadena, Texas, at the age of 90. Hoover was born in Bon Wier, Texas, on May 25, 1927, to Emma and John Adam Cochran. He was the twelfth of thirteen children and the last surviving sibling. He grew up at the family home in Bon Wier and joined the army at the age of 18. When he returned from the service, he married Helen Louise White on October 24, 1947. He became a Christian in 1955 and dedicated his life to serving the Lord and the church as a song leader and teacher. One of his greatest joys and responsibilities was the time he spent as an Elder for the Broadway church of Christ in La Porte. He worked as a pipefitter out of Pipefitters Local Union 211 for over fifty years. Hoover enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, and singing. He loved the Lord, his physical family, and his church family and was always willing to lend a hand to those who needed him. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen Louise Cochran; his three daughters Willie Louise Cochran; Sally Hagon and husband, Jim; Terry Kornfeld and husband, Jeff; Granddaughter Rachel Gamez and husband, Juan; great-grandsons Michael Arthur and Anthony Jake (A.J.) Gamez; numerous beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Paul U.
