Curtis B. Backus, Jr., age 94 died on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, peacefully at the Goodwin House, Alexandria, Virginia. Born July 1, 1912 in Havana, Cuba, he was raised in Alexandria, Virginia. He resided in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He is survived by his son Curtis B. Backus, III and his wife Barbara M. Backus; and his brother The Honorable Franklin P. Backus and his wife Virginia Gray Backus. Also survived by his nieces, Eleanor Backus Engh, Joshan Backus Wise, Louise Knox Livinghouse and Elizabeth Knox Peters. He was predeceased by his broher, William M. Backus and his sister Louise Backus Knox. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday March 6, 2007 at St. George's Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg.
