| Birth: | 1838 | | Death: | Sep. 9, 1874 |  Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served during the wars with the Plains Indians as a Sergeant in Company 1, 5th United States Infantry. He was awarded his medal posthumously for action at Upper Washita, Texas, on September 9 to 11, 1874. His citation reads simply "Gallantry in action". It was awarded on April 23, 1875.
