| Birth: | 1848 | | Death: | Nov. 11, 1872 |  Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Augusta, Maine, he served as a Corporal in Company A, 4th US Cavalry. During fierce combat with the Mow-wi tribe of Comanche at Red River, Texas, September 29, 1872, Corporal McMasters showed great bravery in the face of the enemy.
