Denise Cynthia (Hulsopple) Smith went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 12, 2017 while doing two of the things she loved most, being with her husband and grandchildren, and riding in her Cub Cadet Side by side. Denise was born in Topeka KS., on January 14th, 1957 to Don and Dolores Hulsopple. Delores Later remarried to Adelbert Hurt. After living in a few places in Kansas, Denise’s Family moved to Newtown MO where her mother and step-father worked for Uniongas Company.

Denise attended Newtown-Harris School where she met her husband Gary. The two of them attended Northeast Missouri State University where Denise received a two-year degree in child development. The day after she graduated with the degree, she and Gary were married on May 7, 1977. They began their life together in Kirksville, MO., where Denise worked two years in the University Book Store while Gary finished his four year degree.

Denise and her husband Gary later moved to Clearfield, IA were they started their family of four children Jessica, Joshua, Jannica and Jeremy whom she loved dearly. In order to remain at home with her children and still help provide for the family, Denise used her two year child development degree and started a home daycare. When the family moved to Lenox in 1989, Denise continued taking care of children in her home daycare. She was a caring provider for the children she watched as well as her own four children.

Later, as the children grew older, Denise worked for Taylor Ridge Estates for a few years, then Managed Apartments, for National Management Corporation, in several locations. Later in her life Denise was stricken with a disorder that had symptoms of many different diseases, but could not be diagnosed with certainty. She eventually, but reluctantly went to using a cane, then a walker, and finally a wheelchair. Through it all she did not complain or give up and most certainly did not want anyone to feel sorry for her. She remained strong in her faith in the Lord, and loyal to her husband, children and grandchildren, all whom she loved dearly. She was also a prayer warrior and an inspiration to those whom knew her well.
