Ardith was born to Arthur & Mae Evelyn (Petersen) Andersen. She attended New England County School and graduated from Herman High School in 1947. She attended Midland College and attainted her teaching certificate, then began teaching at Orum School.
On January 8-1950, she married Donald L. Rasmussen at the Methodist Church in Blair. After they made hoe on a farm in rural Kennard. In 1955, the family moved to the family farm west of Blair, NE.
After raising her family and helping on the family farm, she started working at Klopps Jewelry and Gifts, managing the store for 25 years.
Ardith and Donald spent their winters in Texas, where she enjoyed singing in the church and being part of the church programs.
