Andrew was the son of Henry G. Seidel (1843-1919) and Emma Balthaser (1845-1920).
He married on October 20, 1894, Greenwich, Berks County, Pennsylvania, to Malaria Amelia Heffner.
They appear in the 1910 through 1930 census of Maxatawny Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was a dairy farmer and construction foreman.

Twenty-four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four children and two brothers and a sister survive Andrew J. Seidel, 73, former borough councilman and Kutztown Fair Director.
He died March 18th at his home, 152 Walnut Street. For many years he farmed in Richmond Township, and later worked at the Kutztown Textile Mills.
Born in Windsor Township, he was a son of the late Henry and Emma [Balthaser] Seidel. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church; a director of the local Fair Association; a charter member of the Kutztown Social Club; and was also affiliated with the Kutztown Aerie of Eagles, No. 839, and the Kutztown Fire Company.
His wife died a year ago. His four children are Robert, Fleetwood R. D.; Harvey, Maxatawny; Mrs. Rufus Mest, of town, and Mrs. Anson Dietrich, Kempton. His brothers are Irvin, Maxatawny, and Milton, of Hamburg, and his sister is Mrs. William Gruber, Royersford.
He funeral was conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p. m. in the Brumbach Funeral Home. Further services were held by the Rev J. W. Bittner in St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial in Hope Cemetery.
