Hoyt C. Patton

COEBURN -- Hoyt Claude Patton, 67, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999.
He was born in Freemont, Va., a son of the late B.J. and Mae Patton. He was
a U. S. Army veteran and retired from Lambert Coal Co.
Surviving are his wife, Eda Gay Smith Patton; four children, Deborah Lynn
Mullins and Richie Dale Patton, both of Clintwood, Jeannie Karen McFaddin
of Melbourne, Fla., and Melissa Ann Vance of Bristol Tennessee; four sisters,
Arbutus Woodcock of Bellbrook, Ohio, Martha Harnish of South Vienna,
Ohio, Jewel Rose of McClure, Va., and Irene Elliott of Greensboro, N.C.;
four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. in Mullins Funeral
Home Chapel. Pastor Ken Pierce will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill
Memorial Park Cemetery in Castlewood.
Mr. Patton was also preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Belcher; and two
brothers, Theodore Patton and Harding Patton.
Among survivors are grandchildren, Tamara Shay Mullins, Brandon Todd
Mullins and Kaitlyn Brooke Patton, all of Clintwood, and Nicolette McFaddin
of Melbourne, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Angela Rakes Patton; three
sons-in-law, Donald Mullins, Buddy McFaddin and Clifton Vance; and several
fishing buddies. He also leaves behind his faithful canine companion, Peanut.
The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel
where a song service will be held at 7 p.m.
Mullins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
