Chunkie was the daughter of Thomas and Metilda Singleton. She died in Covington, KY of Scarlet Fever. According to the cemetery personnel, Chunkie's grave is the most visited in the cemetery. Visitors often leave trinkets and coins on her marker.

Her family was devastated and had this life-sized marble statue made dressed in a pinafore dress and bonnet, holding an umbrella with her epitaph saying, "Only God knows how we miss her."
