---KIOWA - Benjamin Alberts Roberts, 77, died Saturday at Kiowa District Hospital. Born March 6, 1899 at La Plata, Mo., he married Blanche Haynes Sept. 22, 1925. He was a retired State Highway Dept. employee and a resident of Kiowa since 1939.
---He was a member of United Methodist Church, Kiowa.
---Survivors include widow; sons; Bob H., Buckeye, Ariz.; Jim A., Junction City, Colo.; daughter: Mrs. Betty Lou Ale-Ebrahim, Wichita; sister: Mrs. Lillie Shoemaker, LaPlata, Mo; eight grandchildren.
---Funeral will be 2 p.m Tuesday at the church; Rev. Charles E. Hadley, Rev. Floyd Sibley. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Kiowa. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and until 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home, Kiowa.

---Funeral services were held in the United Methodist Church, Tuesday, for Benjamin Alberts "Ben" Roberts, a longtime Kiowa resident. Ben died at the Kiowa District hospital, Saturday, at the age of 77 years.
---Officiating at the 2 p.m. service were the resident pastor, Rev. Charles Hadley, and the Congregational Church pastor, Rev. Floyd Sibley. Interment was in Riverview cemetery with arrangements by Fisher Funeral Home, Inc.
---Ben was born Mar. 6, 1899, in LaPlata, Mo., the son of Benjamin F. and Lucy Allen Roberts. He moved with his parents to Attica when he was 10 years old. He also lived on the Walton Ranch, on a farm north of Sharon and in Hazelton, where he attended grade school and high school.
---He was united in marriage to Ruby Blanche Haynes, Sept. 22, 1925, at Linneus, Mo. To this union were born three children: Bobby H., Jimmie A. and Betty Lou.
---In June of 1926, he bagan working for the Barber County Road Patrol. Five years later, he started working for the State Highway Commission and retired May 1, 1964, after 35 years.
---He joined the United Methodist Church April 9, 1944, at Kiowa.
---Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, [four brothers] and one granddaughter.
---Survivors include his wife, Blanche, of the home; two sons, Bob of Buckeye, Ariz., and Jim of Grand Junction, Colo.; one daughter, Betty Lou AleEbrahim, Wichita; eight grandchildren; a sister, Lillie Shoemaker, La Plata, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
