Services were March 4, 2000, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Odebolt. The Rev. Allan Reicks officiated with burial in St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in Odebolt under the direction of Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Odebolt.
Mrs. Olberding was born April 23, 1903, at Mt. Carmel, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Wilhemina (Kies) Nees. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at Mt. Carmel.
She married Frank Olberding Nov. 28, 1923, in Mt. Carmel.
In 1938, the couple moved from Arcadia, Iowa, to a farm near Odebolt. He died in 1955.
She continued to live on the farm until moving into Odebolt in 1958. In addition to being a housewife, she also worked at Odebolt Bakery.
She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, Odebolt, Iowa, and the Parish Ladies Society.
Survivors include two sons, Norman Olberding of Odebolt and Vernon and his wife, Sandy Olberding of Spencer, Iowa; four daughters, Mardelle Bloeger of Sioux Center, Iowa, Elaine and her husband, Joseph Kennedy of Storm Lake, Iowa, Marilyn and her husband, Robert Thompson of Cape Coral, Fla., and Sharon Truex of Hayward, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Henkenius of Massena, Iowa; Sister M. Eloise of LaCrosse, Wis.; Mary Daniel of Carroll, Iowa; and Leona Donaldson of New Hope, Minn.; a brother, Leon Nees of Tongonoxia, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews
