(NOTE: There is NO document that states her name was ever Margaret or that she ever used the name "Jennie." She was alternately known as JANE or JEAN. Also, view the 1st two documents on http://caulleyscorner.com/Kirk-Kil/hugh-johnhugh1741.html where she is identified as Jane ) Margaret Jane "Jennie" (Wilkins) Kirkpatrick was the daughter of John Wilkins and Rachel (McFarland) Wilkins. She married John Hugh Kirkpatrick about 1759 in Lancaster County, Royal Colony of Pennsylvania. They moved to the Colony of Virginia in the early 1760's. Margaret and John had nine (9) children. They moved to the Watagua Settlements about 1778. They moved to the area of Jefferson County that later became Hamblen County, Tennessee following the Revolutionary War.
