Eao M. (Johns) Carson, 82

July 19, 1934 ~ April 22, 2017

Eao was born on the hottest day of the year at home in Bloomfield, Nebraska on July 19, 1934 to Gerald and Mildred (Fish) Johns.

Her dad was killed in World War II when she was 10 years old. Her mother went to work in a clothing store, so Eao was expected to care for her 5-year-old brother.

She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1952. She attended Norfolk Jr. College till May 1954, then began her 30-year teaching career at Beaver Crossing, Nebraska.

In 1956 she met Kenley Carson, who was a Chicago and Northwestern Railroad employee working in Beaver Crossing. They married at Bloomfield on July 28, 1957, and were blessed with two daughters and two sons.

Arlington, Nebraska was her next teaching job. In September 1958 Kenley was transferred to Nora, Nebraska, then to Superior, Nebraska. He was transferred to Dodge, Nebraska and they made their home in Snyder, then Dodge and finally Scribne, Nebraska.

In August 1962 Eao started teaching kindergarten at Scribner Public Schools, a job that lasted 26 years. Eao attended Midland Lutheran College (now Midland University) in Fremont taking summer and night classes, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Education in 1971.

After retiring from teaching in Scribner she taught pre-school classes in Day Care Centers in Fremont, Hooper and Scribner. She also was a nanny for many years for Ian Bradbury, Beth and Jessie Waggoner.

Eao was very active in her church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She also volunteered at the Scribner Good Samaritan Center. She was an avid bird watcher belonging to two Bird clubs.
