The funeral service for Henry County native and retired plant operations supervisor Carol Foster "C.F." Alexander of Kevil, Ky., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Joseph Walker Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Foundry Hill Baptist Cemetery near Puryear.

Named as pallbearers are Bruce, Roland, Marcus and David Alexander, Nick Swift, Dennis Foster, Michael, Roger and Richard Schmidt and Ronnie Crenshaw.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday.

Alexander, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

His wife, Wanda Wilson Alexander, survives.

His first wife, Ruth Calvin Hooper Alexander, died May 10, 1999. They were married on July 14, 1951.

Born in Puryear on Sept. 7, 1929, he was a son of the late Page and Lillian Johnson Alexander.

Alexander retired after 37 years as operations supervisor for the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and according to a family member loved collecting cars and tractors.

He also leaves three sons: Glenn (Theda) Alexander of West Paducah, Ky., and John (Melissa) Alexander and Wayne Alexander, both of Paducah; one stepdaughter: Ruth (Dennis) Foster of Paducah; three stepsons: Michael (Della) Schmidt, Roger Schmidt and Richard (Gail) Schmidt, all of Paducah;

Two sisters: Crystel Smith of Mansfield and Joyce Dyer of Millington; one brother: Thomas Page Alexander of Puryear; three grandchildren: Matt and Ruthanne Alexander and Josh (Traci) Alexander; one great-grandchild: Brice Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by a brother: Malon Noah Alexander.
