Howard Blachly was born May 9, 1870 at Coos Bay, Oregon, and passed away at Pleasant Valley, October 3, 1938. Mr. Blackly grew to manhood in Cameron, Missouri. He came to Kalispell in 1897 and was employed in Richards' sawmill. In 1909 he was appointed to civil service and served for 25 years from the Kalispell post office, retiring about two years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude G. Blachly, at home, and one daughter, Mrs. Walter Rau of Pleasant Valley; one brother G.A. Blachly of Kalispell; two sisters, Mrs. E.E. Allen of Helena, and Mrs. E.F. Smith of Los Angeles, California; also two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
