Information from Brian Curdy: Following his discharge in 1861, Albert Wright Peebles re-enlisted in the 122nd regiment of Illinois Volunteer Infantry in August 1862. He served with the regiment in battles at Paducah, Tupelo, Nashville and the Spanish Fort prior to being mustered out and discharged in July 1865. My Tennessee-born great grandfather, John Sullivan Irwin, served as a private soldier in the same regiment. Their spouses, my great grandmother and Mrs. Peebles were the daughters of Mr. and Mrs Albert G. Sullivan. The Sullivan Irwin Peebles families left West Tennessee for Gravel Point and Mountain Grove in Texas County and Wright County Missouri between 1869 and 1870 after Governor Brownlow left office in Tennessee.
