Joseph (Joe) Henry Burns was born 10/28/1910 in Rossville,Shawnee Co., Kansas, the first born son of Louis and Estella (Stamp) Burns. He died June 20, 1971 in La Junta CO. He operated his own business, Burns Plumbing, in North La Junta,Co.


He was in the Civilian Conservation Corp. (CCC) in the 1930's. He served in World War 2 in the U.S. Navy "SeeBees". He was a member of the 135th battalion in the South West Pacific until 1945.

He married Edith Rowton in 1934. This union had 1 son James Joseph Burns born Sept. 24, 1935, died Oct. 30, 2004 in Burson CA They were divorced (date unknown).

After World War 2, Joe married Isabel (Wolford) McGoin, daughter of Chester A. and Elsie M.(Harvey)Wolford. Isabel had three children by Mr. McGoin.... Romona,Jimmy and Gene. She was born in Burlingame, Kansas, Dec 2, 1909 and died Dec 4, 1964 in La Junta CO.
