LINDSEY, Dr. John Ray "Ray" 89, of Thonotosassa, FL died Thursday, March 23, 2017. He was a member of Harmony Baptist church. Ray was born July 8, 1927 in Sevierville, TN to the late James and Pearlie Lindsey. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a WWII veteran. His career in the ministry spanned 63 years in various cities throughout the Southeast. He was preceded in death by his loving first wife Jean Lindsey; sisters, Lida Lerr, Anah Bowers; brothers, Ralph and James Lindsey. He is survived by his second wife, Louise Lindsey; sons, Gary Lindsey (Naomi) of Signal Mountain, TN, Mike Lindsey
(Ann) of Chattanooga, TN, Ronnie Lindsey (Robin) of Statesville, NC; and daughter, Judy Testa (Philip) of Seffner, FL; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Landmark Baptist Church with Rev. Vance Catlin officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1pm. The services will begin promptly at 2 pm.
