Shortly after he retired, Joseph W Musselman, 76, a farmer, died at his home near Fairfield at 9:30, Thursday evening. Death resulted from a heart attack before a physician arrived.
Mr. Musselman was engaged in his usual pursuits, Thursday, and for a short time had gone hunting.
He also chopped wood, the first he had done for some time.
Shortly after he and Mrs. Musselman retired, Mrs. Musselman heard her husband's labored breathing, and called to him. He did not respond and when she investigated she found her husband dead.
A physician was summoned but life was extinct.
Mr. Musselman once served as a school director in Hamiltonban township.
He was a son of the late Joseph and Hetty Martin Musselman, and was born and lived on the Joseph Musselman farm almost his entire life, with the exception of several years during which he lived
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Fairfield.
Surviving are his widow, whose maiden name was Miss Nannie Plank; three sons, Milford and Wilbur, both of near Fairfield, and Ralph Musselman, near Hanover; 12 grandchildren; one sister,
Mrs. Susan Creagar, Union Bridge, Maryland, and one brother, Grant Musselman, of Chana, Illinois.
Funeral services at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:00, the Rev. C.M. Coffelt officiating.
Interment in Union cemetery, Fairfield.
