A farm tractor accident resulted in the 5 pm Saturday death of Mrs. Betty Lucille Myers, 33, of Sligo. Mrs. Myers was killed when the tractor she was driving and the wagon-load of hay being pulled jack-knifed. She was driving downhill when the tractor began to skid. The tractor and it trailing wagon skidded into a wooded area and jack-knifed. The tractor hit a tree and Mrs. Myers was killed instantly as her neck was caught between tractor and tree. Her husband, Walter, was riding on the hay wagon at the time of the mishap. He was thrown from the wagon and pinned under the tractor radiator. Walter managed to work himself free and was treated for leg injuries. Relatives related Mrs. Myers had come to the hill-top field with water for a wheat combining crew. Her husband asked her to drive the tractor to the barn on her return. Mrs. Myers was born May 28, 1925, in Monroe Township, Clarion County, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Keister Myers. Her parents preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Walter R. Myers April 28, 1945 [1942]. In addition to her husband, two sons survive, Jerry, 14, and Kenneth, 13. Two brothers, Harmon and Eugene Myers, Sligo RD, also survive. Mrs. Myers was a member of the Curllsville Methodist Church, the WSCs and Young People's Married Class of that church. She was also an employee of the Parker Glass Plant in Parker. The body was removed to the Hawk Funeral Home, Sligo, where friends may call. The Derrick, Oil City, Pa.. Monday, August 11, 1958. Pg 1
