JOHN A. ADAMS RITES OBSERVED
Funeral services for John Albert (Bert) Adams were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Waggener and Campbell Chapel by the Rev. George Van Leuven of the Presbyterian Church.
Bill Carr sang two appropriate hymns accompanied at the organ by Miss Louise Hanger. Friends acting as pallbearers were George E. Thomas, T. S. Perry, A. R. Lyford, Fred Sempf and H. A. Fisher. Members of the Oddfellows Lodge attended in a body, as did teachers from the Elrod School.
Burial was made in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
Bert Adams was born in Amery, Wis., May 24, 1877. He lived there for several years. He was married to Miss Mildred E. Curtis March 26, 1902, and five years later they came to Kalispell where Mr. Adams was employed by the City Transfer Co. He was next employed by the Kalispell city schools as custodian and in 1949, retired after 25 years of service.
Mr. Adams was a member of the Modern Woodmen and the IOOF Lodge where he advanced through the chairs of office. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by three children, Mrs. Evelyn Zachery of Novato, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Loveless of Kila, and Roy Adams of Vancouver, Wash.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Mae Cameron and Mrs. Blanche French of Kalispell, Mrs. Maude Riddell of Vancouver, Wash., Jess Adams of Kalispell and Charles Adams of Amery, Wis., Mrs. Adams died in 1949.
