Bonnie Kate Gann Tarwater went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. She was born July 14, 1924 to Keet and Lydia Gann. She worked in textiles and was employed by Holston Hosiery Mill, Lays Five-n-Dime, Cherokee Textile Mills and spent her last years working for Walmart where she had a chance to meet people and make lots of friends. She was owner of Tarwater Catering Service. Bonnie loved the Lord and served Him to the best of her ability for many years. She referred to herself as "a people person" and enjoyed her family, friends, gardening, music, baking for friends and family, reading and she loved a good laugh. Her family was her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 38 years Glenn Ashley Tarwater and her infant daughter Betty Jo Tarwater; also her sisters, Emily Gann, Rosa Bell Turner and Bill, Edith Connatser and husband Mel, Gertrude Ward and husband Bates, Cora Matthews and husband C.D., Billie Ruth Houk Scheuneman; father and mother-in-law, Levi and Anna Mae Tarwater and son-in-law Ken Williams.

She is survived by her Daughters Wanda McClure (Marshall), Sue Williams;
Sons: Melvin (Butch) Tarwater (Kathy) and David L. Tarwater (Pat); Grandchildren: Donna Chandler (Todd), Mark Williams (Jane), Steve Williams (Lori), Travis Williams (Julie), Jana Hammontree, Phillip McClure, Brandi Watson, Doug Tarwater, Kelley Marshall (Will); and Sister: Grace Clark Ward. She enjoyed her seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Surviving special friends are Jerry and Carolyn Merritt, Wanda Rolen and Cecile Roberts.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Tennessee, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville with Rev. Travis Williams officiating.
