Elizabeth (Betty) Margaret Stark first married Carl Badger. Carl and Betty had two children, Barbara and Bob. Carl died around 1951. In May 1955, Betty's son Bob met another student also named Bob whose father General James Van Gorder Wilson was a widower. The two Bobs got their parents together and they married in Dec 28, 1955. James and Betty Wilson had a child Mary. The Wilsons had a home near the US Air Force Academy campus, and they were friends and mentors to many of the cadets there. Betty would host them overnight in her home as soon as they were allowed to leave academy grounds. Betty had a rule, if you were a visitor – housecleaning was a must! If you bathed you cleaned the tub. If you used the outside hose to wash a car, you put everything neatly away. She treated them as family and held them to rules. General Wilson died in 1983, and Betty died two years later. She was survived by three children, five grandchildren, a great grandchild, two stepsons, and four step grandchildren.
