Leone Helen Mulder was born on January 14, 1938, in Renville, Minnesota to Leslie and Helen (Harding) Hemingsen. She grew up on a farm near Renville and graduated from Renville High School in 1955. She continued her education at the Minneapolis School of Business and then worked in Minneapolis for a short time.
She was united in marriage to Edwin Mulder on April 21, 1958, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Leone and Edwin lived on a farm north of Renville and they raised their family there. After her daughters started school, Leone worked at the Renville Public Schools and the Rainbow Nursery. Edwin passed away on September 23, 1997, and Leone later married Elroy Eekhoff on June 27, 2000. Together they lived west of Renville until Elroy's death in December of 2008.
Leone was a member of Emden Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed sewing and decorating, baking, watching sports, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. All her life, Leone loved to be a caregiver, she cared for her children as they grew up, and later for her husbands Edwin and Elroy when their health began to fail. Leone also loved to bake for her family and the residents at Meadows on Main. She always had cookies for anyone who came to visit.
Survivors include her daughters: Lynn, Renee and Joan; her grandchildren: Mitchell, Randy, Derrick, Natalie, Renee, Bradley and Ashley; her great grandchildren: Dylan, Kylen, Emmett, Asher, Stella, and Bryce; and her sister and brother: Lorraine and Chris. Leone is also survived by Elroy's children: Pat, Tom, Dick and Scott; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Edwin and Elroy, and her brothers Stan, Don, and her twin Leo.
Blessed Be Her Memory.
