"Romuald L. Niziolek, 81 years, of Arlington, NE died Friday, February 17, 2017 at his home. Romuald was born July 27, 1935 in Blizyn, Poland, to Lucjan and Dominika (Osubka) Niziolek. Romuald grew up in Poland and worked in the textile industry and later was a train conductor. He immigrated to the United States in 1981 and his children joined him in 1986. He was employed by Dana College in Blair from 1981 until retiring in 1997. He then resided in Arlington, NE.
Romuald married Rene Knievel on February 1, 1994.
He enjoyed crafts, making bookmarks, gardening and writing poetry in Polish.
Romuald is survived by his wife, Rene Knievel of Arlington; son, Christopher Niziolek of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Anna Weyer of Omaha, NE, Magdalene (Garret) Flynn of Blair, NE, Marta (Roderick) Anderson of Fairfax, VA and Alaina (Andrew) Albright of Minot, N.D.; brother, Richard Niziolek of Poland; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wanda Jakubiec.
Funeral service will be 1:30 PM, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, NE. Chaplain James Jost, Nancy Knievel and Christina Pavlik will officiate. Visitation on Wednesday from noon to 1 PM at the funeral home, with a Rosary being said at 1 PM, all at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, NE."
