Pauline Burch Barnes, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Born in Gaston County on August 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Alfred Burch and Gussie Hutto Burch.
Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker and a 67 year member of East Belmont Church of God where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member and active in the church card ministry. She was a volunteer at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, Shafer Barnes; six sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her children, Dennis Barnes, Becky Halk and Michael Barnes; grandchildren, Delores Robinson, Chad Barnes, Joshua Barnes, James Locust, Brandon Painter, Matthew Faucette, Ashley Faucette, Gennie Atwell and Tammy Faucette; great-grandson, Aiden Locust.
Family and friends of Mrs. Barnes are invited to attend her visitation beginning at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at East Belmont Church of God. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at East Belmont Church of God. Burial will follow in Evergreen – A Quiet Place.
